California law requires owners of multi-family buildings to have their balconies, decks, stairs, landings, and walkways inspected for safety and water damage. NAXA performs SB-721 and SB-326 inspections with licensed engineers and architects, delivers a clear report in two weeks, and, if we find a problem, designs the repair and the TESH group can build it.
After a 2015 balcony collapse, California enacted two laws requiring inspection of exterior elevated elements (EEEs) more than six feet above grade on multi-family buildings. Both initial deadlines have now passed.
Never extended. Any association that has not yet inspected is now overdue.
Extended once, by AB 2579. That deadline has also passed, so any building not yet inspected is now overdue.
Both initial deadlines are now behind us, and there is no further statewide extension. If your building has not been inspected, getting it done now limits your exposure.
Load-bearing components and waterproofing.
Structure, connections, and finishes.
Surfaces, framing, and drainage.
Any walking surface over six feet.
Licensed engineers and architects assess a statistically significant sample of elements using multiple methods, then deliver a clear report you can act on.
Most inspectors hand you a report and walk away. Because NAXA is part of the TESH integrated group, we can take a finding all the way to a finished, compliant repair, without juggling three companies. NAXA inspects and designs the repair; our sister company Cal Retrofit is the licensed contractor that builds and recertifies it.
